Good Times, Good Friends, Good Memories--BSU 08

What can I say, the 7 hour drive to Muncie-THROUGH Chicago- is SOOO worth it! I love Ball State and I love my girlfriends. Each year it is like no time passes at all, we jump right back in where we left off the previous year. It is amazing, we have 16 kids between us and the ID checkers at the college bars STILL give us a hard time when we don't bring 2 forms of identification. This time we finally broke down and told him 'if we needed a fake ID to get in this place, we definately wouldn't pretend to be 35!!!!' He then told me to 'have a good evening MAAM' UGH-- straight through the heart.

The weekend was a blast, BSU is STILL undefeated this season and I am already counting down the days until I get to go again.

GOing to BALL STATE!!

Tomorrow I am starting the first leg of my trip to BSU homecoming 08!! I went to BSU from 91-95 and met some of my very best friends.... Starting in 05, we began making the journey (well for ME it's a journey) to Homecoming every year. We have noticed how things change and how things stay the same (the score on the scoreboard:-( BUT this year may be different. BSU is undefeated heading into homecoming and they are flying high after demolishing ahem.... IU.... last week!! Here are a few photos from years past. I will post the new photos next week. I am so excited to see my BSU GALS!!

If it weren't for the fruit snacks......

I would NOT shop at Sam's Club!!
First of all why should I have to pay membership fees just to shop in a store?
Second, why do I have to show my I.D. just to walk through the door? I can't buy anything without it anyway?
and lastly... where are the big discounted savings?

This morning I went to Sams to get some.... Fruit snacks.... seriously they are the best fruit snacks, made by Nabisco (there is cherry, strawberry and mixed berrry) Let me know if you see them anywhere and I will cancel my membership :-) Anyway, the store opens at 10:00am, unless you have a business membership...aargh... so they have a door open but are closely monitoring, only gold cards allowed, even though it is FIVE MINUTES AFTER TEN!!!

I swear they were standing there laughing at us poor, general membership holders lining up ready to charge the place to buy 100 rolls of paper towels!! They finally opened the doors and we all rush to get the oversized carts to wander around the wearhouse looking for things that are NOT in the same place as last time!!

Alas, I got my fruit snacks and jumbo lemonade powder and I don't have to shop for toilet paper or paper towels until sometime next year.... I really don't know why I put myself through all of this. I am at Target once a week anyway.. LOL :-)

Dylan's Run For Autism- 2008

Sunday, September 7th was the PERFECT day for Dylan's Run. The weather was gorgeous and the company was the best around. About 2,600 people all walking for OUR children!! It really is an emotional time, you see groups of people walking with kids pictures on their shirt and their hearts on their sleeve.

You know, I certainly wouldn't have chosen this path to walk in life, but the people I have met along the way have really become my friends and my 'autism family' and I don't know what I would do without them.

My support group team raised just over $2000 for autism research!! Camryn's therapy provider had a team too, we were surrounded by people who love my girls... it was the best day!!

First Day of School 08-09

Summer is offically over at the Rossa house. Both girls are IN SCHOOL all day today!! I sure have a quiet house. Camryn's first day was Tues. Sept. 2nd and she did amazing. Her sp. ed. teacher talked to me after school and commented on how hard Camryn must have worked over the summer. She said she was so happy, social and had such great eye contact throughout the day. Her reg. ed. teacher called me at the end of the day saying the same wonderful things.
Today is Chloe's first day of school. She went willingly and met her sub. EC teacher. Andrew said she was shy at first but then they started talking about everyone's pretty shoes and she perked right up! LOL At the drop off this morning Andrew said Camryn bolted out of the car and ran down the sidewalk saying "GOOD MORNING" to everyone who would give her the time of day!! She is filled with joy about seeing people at school! YEAH.
I hope to have a good report about Chloe's first day!!

Added on Sept. 4th
Chloe had a GREAT first day of school. She went potty in the toilet ALL DAY, even asked to go on her own!! She ate most of her lunch and was in great spirits when walking out of school with her teacher. Only thing she didn't like was the puppet show, LOL. YEAH, great first day. I am so proud of her!!
