Peer Play

This summer we are trying to put a little focus on Camryn interacting with her peers. Most children on the autism spectrum have better social skills with adults than with others their own age, this is certainly true for Miss Camryn. She LOVES to be around kids her own age, but has difficulty really engaging with them in conversation or meaningful play.
We have set up weekly peer play sessions with a gal you might remember from an earlier blog post. Jayla is a sweet girl that sat next to Camryn all last year and really helped her out. They have really taken a liking to each other and their friendship seems to be blooming during these sessions.

These are the sweetest pictures. I am so glad that Camryn is getting play time with someone her age. Warm fuzzies all around for this blog post.

The girls had so much fun and I can't believe how great Jayla is with camryn!!!! Even without suggesting it Jayla would get in there and position Camryn and her arms to bowl or do whatever activity we were doing at the time. Camryn loves to read her journal page about Jayla and keeps asking about her, these girls really have something special!!! Way to get it all planned out mom!!!!
